Speaking of people who think they succeeded where they failed badly, the fifth anniversary of Katrina was last weekend, and I didn't read much of the commentary surrounding it, but I gathered that the media thought their coverage of Katrina was quite good. I suppose this depends on your standards; if FEMA did a good job, and Mayor Nagin did a good job, then maybe the press did a good job. Prizes for everyone!
By any more useful meaning of "good", though, the press coverage was not good. A few links, not all of which I have read:
