Idle thoughts of a relatively libertarian Republican in Cambridge, MA, and whomever he invites. Mostly political.

We're going to try, on a semi-experimental basis, using blogger's commenting feature. I'd like to make it clear here exactly how much we're not promising.

We certainly don't promise not to eliminate the comments, if we think they end up needing too much screening, whether for spam or for obscene or abusive language. We also don't promise that that's the only reason we might elminate commenting.

We can choose whether or not to allow comments on individual entries. So, we will choose whether or not to allow comments on each entry.

I'm not certain whether we have the ability to delete individual comments. I hope we do, and, if so, we'll use it primarily for spam and inappropriate language. But that's subject to whim as well -- if we want to remove your comment because it has too many 'p's in it, we'll remove it.

I will make one small promise: even if we have the ability to edit your comments (I'm not sure exactly what capabilities we have), we won't do it. Delete, yes, but not modify.

With those caveats, comment away!
