The other day, my fiancée wondered out loud whether some post-recall incidents involving out-of-control Toyotas might be cash-driven hoaxes. I replied that I didn't think a lot of people would do anything terribly dangerous to try to cash in, but that, given the number of incidents that have actually been alleged, it wouldn't take many such people for them to constitute a lot of the newer incidents. In fact, one is probably enough.
