I'll leave it to others to comment on Obama's explanation of why, after he announced that he had a new Afghanistan strategy at the end of March, it took him so long to respond to General McChrystal's request for more troops. At least, that's what I assume he talked about tonight — I didn't watch.
But I see some reports that Chris Matthews thought West Point was a "strange venue" for the commander-in-chief to announce a military decision. Now, that's not the first Ratherian comment Chris Matthews has ever made, but I'm wondering whether it reminds anyone besides me of the line from Dr. Strangelove: "You can't fight in here! This is the war room!"
