Jonah's book came out today; I have to say, I don't share my brother's enthusiasm; the thesis seems a mixture of obvious and not all that interesting. I do imagine there will be some interesting history in it, and it will probably be worthwhile to have that sort of history collected into one convenient place, but the idea that attempts to regulate society in a central manner are similar to attempts to regulate society in a central manner, even if there are other people who seem to have missed this, isn't the sort of epiphany that gets me excited to go out and read it right away.
