Idle thoughts of a relatively libertarian Republican in Cambridge, MA, and whomever he invites. Mostly political.

Without comment:- A 200 kW nuclear reactor. For, you know, home use or something.
- In Maclean's, a rebuttal to Mark Steyn, particularly his assumption that increasing numbers of Muslims in western countries will necessarily undermine their liberalism.
- Grain prices are quite high. Bad weather (globally) results in poor harvests, while economic development in parts of the world make demand less elastic (those countries used to be more price sensitive). Also, milk prices are up, for much the same set of reasons; $4.50 at my grocery store.
- Beware counterparty risk on your credit derivatives. Actually, I may well comment on that one elsewhere, but not now.
- For no real reason, I'll link to an IRS overview of changes in Alternative Minimum Tax law from 2006 to 2007; I expect the contents at that site to change in the next week or so.
