Fox News Sunday points out that Venezuela and Russia - two democracies possibly heading toward dictatorship - both have important elections today. I guess I have more fear for Venezuela, mostly because I have more hope for Venezuela; I think if Putin and Chavez both died this month, Venezuela would be much more democratic in five to ten years than Russia.
The Weekly Standard had this piece on Putin's attack on protestors last week; if you have a WSJ subscription, here's a piece, too. Whether or not you subscribe to National Review, you can read this piece on Venezuela.
