Idle thoughts of a relatively libertarian Republican in Cambridge, MA, and whomever he invites. Mostly political.

On the one hand, I'd like to see John Edwards supporters committed for falling for his shtick, but it's not like he's the only candidate insulting our intelligence:
Again, can someone please explain to me, how asking the junior Senator from New York state whether she agrees with the governor of the state (and a close political ally) on the question of drivers licenses for illegals is even remotely wrong, never mind some sort of vicious, Nazi-like, personal assault on truth, decency, and Hillary Clinton's integrity? I really, really, don't get it.
What's really disgusting is that the Clinton plan will probably work - just keep playing up the notion that Russert did something wrong, and people will forget the actual "sin" of treating a political candidate like a political candidate.

I'd like to think that John Edwards's gambit of unilaterally reducing Congressmen's remuneration is too transparently ludicrous to succeed, but I fear I'm too optimistic.
