But regarding abortion itself, what a candidate thinks about abortion rights is not especially important.Maybe. But the paragraph's construction suggests that in candidate-selection, the specific positions on specific issues are more important than the "signifi[cation] of the candidate's sensibilities and sympathies," and I'm not sure that's true. |
