Idle thoughts of a relatively libertarian Republican in Cambridge, MA, and whomever he invites. Mostly political.

Tradesports seems to slightly favor Lieberman in the general election, and I wonder to some extent whether Lieberman might have won the primary had he not announced that he would run anyway; some voters may have voted against him to "send a message", without actually wanting to oust him. This would only have to be the case for three percent of the primary voters to have swung the election.
No doubt a lot of Republicans and independents will be supporting Lieberman over Lamont as well, and it seems reasonable to think his odds in the general election would be better than in the primary even if there aren't Democrats who planned to vote against him before they voted for him. On the other hand, there are likely to be Democrats who voted for him but will vote for the party label in November.
