I would guess Ken Lay did something illegal, and I'm fairly sure that Jeff Skilling did; that said, I'm a bit disappointed (though I shouldn't be surprised) to hear pundits talk about how today's verdict was needed to "send a message". I hope it's not too ruat coelum of me to think that message-sending should have had nothing to do with the jury's decision.
