During a round of drinking in Beijing a [Chinese] general bragged to an American diplomat that a number of [North Korean] senior officers have defected to communist China. The general made the rhetorical remark, "Can you imagine what their society must be like if they defect to us?"
That's from a new book on one of the most screwed-up -- and one of the most dangerous -- countries on the earth.
