Wednesday, March 21, 2012 ::: It's probably because I live in the bubble of elite opinion-makers that it surprises me that only half of the American public thinks that religious conservatives have too much control over the Republican Party. Looking at the breakdown by party, I'm less surprised that about a third of Republicans hold that opinion than by the fact that only three in five Democrats do.In hindsight, though, I already knew that the Democratic opinions I see come predominantly from the wealthier, more socially liberal portion of the party.
