I'm sure we've mentioned this before, but there are good reasons for opposing a state-run health care monopoly beyond the economic reasons.
If the state pays for your health care, it's very much the state's business whether you engage in risky behavior, be it smoking, failing to sufficiently struggle against obesity, or - has the left considered this? - casual sex. Not that the government never interferes with private behavior without a good reason, but I'd still rather not provide it with one.
