John Tierney asks: is nutrition science not really science? He essentially answers "no." It is, unfortunately, quite politicized; I have to take most of the specific facts of the indictment on faith, but they strike me as credible.
As Derek Lowe points out, global warming debates are also "as much religious as scientific", but I at least believe that there is science being done there, even if it's behind the scenes.
