The chess championship bifurcated about a decade ago, but there's a unification match underway between Kramnik and Topalov. They're playing game 1 now. At one point, Kramnik went up a pawn but Topalov seemed to have the better position, but Kramnik seems to have alleviated the pressure and then some, and has a clearly stronger position (up two pawns with the initiative).
